A BRIEF OVERVIEW

I, Chengaiz Khan, founded CK Studios in October 2009 as an off-spin studio to the highly popular and successful machinima group, Euphorian Films. It is a solo project designed solely to help promote myself as an amateur film-maker, photographer and designer; a portfolio site of sorts. I guess you could say CK “Studios” is a bit of a misnomer given that it is just one person, but I prefer to use the term as an umbrella covering all the things I am able to do, from direction to acting.

HISTORY

As stated earlier, CK Studios was formed in October 2009.  After creating Euphorian Films one year earlier, I felt that I had gained sufficient experience in film-making to attempt to try new things, most preferably with regards to live-action film. However, this was not the case as my resources were relatively low and I was still in high-school pursuing a Physics-related course for further education in university, so adequate time was not a luxury that many good film-makers tend to have. Instead, CK Studios became an exclusive, rarely-used brand associated with only my highest quality works. I have picked up community awards at machinima.com for my works and have had one film entered into the Ivy League Machinima Film Festival 2010, and it placed within the top ten finalists.

I continued production under Euphorian Films until September 2010, branding many of those works with a CK Studios pre-roll, before I left the group indefinitely to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

However, Euphorian Films still exists and continues to work wonders in the field of machinima, under the management of Drift0r (actual name held by request). CK Studios will still be with me for the years to come, as I continue to explore creative avenues with film, photography and graphic design whenever I can.

CURRENT SITUATION

As of right now, no works are planned due to my ongoing studies in Physics at university. The long term plan is to acquire a professional video camera and go into live-action. I feel like I have outgrown the medium of machinima to express myself artistically and will no longer produce machinima works. I am still willing to help out certain people should they require my assistance, but I will not take up a directorial role in a machinima any time in the near future.
